Cultural centers in the Binhai New Area, Tianjin, have been asked to open free of charge to the public for at least six hours every day, local authorities said.

The cultural and broadcasting authority in Binhai has released a series of regulations this month, stipulating the required time for the opening free of charge of cultural facilities and the standard facility supplies in the area, enorth.com reported.

The regulation specifies that cultural facilities should be free to the public for at least 42 hours each week and spaces and facilities owned by cultural centers should not be leased out. It also said that public libraries should not be used for other purposes.
