The political advisory body in Shizong county, Yunnan province, suspended the membership of a political advisor on Feb 24 after video clips of him smashing equipment at a boarding gate were spread online.

In the 5-minute video clip, Yan Linkun, member of the county commission of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was filmed smashing the computer and glass door at a boarding gate of the Kunming Changshui International Airport.

The local news website yunnan.cn reported that he became angry after he and his family missed two flights in one day.

The family checked in at 10:30 am and got boarding passes for an 11:05 am flight from Kunming to Guangzhou. They then went for breakfast and arrived at the boarding gate at 10:45 am, but were not allowed to board as the boarding gate was already closed.

They then changed to another flight that left after 1 pm, but again, they arrived at 12:45 pm and were late for boarding.

Yan lost his temper and started damaging the equipment at the boarding gate and quarrelling with the staff.

The scene was filmed and posted online, then reposted by Internet users.

Yan, also deputy board director of a mining company in Yunnan under Guangdong Fengle Group Co Ltd, was suspended from the local political advisory body and suspended from his duty at the mining company on Sunday.

Yan apologized to the airport administration on Saturday. The police are still investigating into the case.
