Xi elected as deputy to national legislature
BEIJING - Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was elected as a deputy to the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), the NPC Standing Committee confirmed Wednesday.
The other six members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan and Zhang Gaoli were also elected as new NPC deputies.
