New glories for China in striving for renewal

BEIJING - China's upcoming "two sessions" will hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics and adhere to the Scientific Outlook on Development to score new glories in realizing the "Chinese dream."

The sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's parliament, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top political advisory body, will open on March 5 and 3, respectively.

The sessions are of particularly great importance, as this is the first year in which the proposals and measures raised at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will be implemented.

The Party congress, which was held in November last year, elected the CPC's new leadership, including Xi Jinping as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and vowed to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, a goal later explained as the "Chinese dream."

As an important platform for carrying out China's democratic politics, the sessions are expected to turn the ruling Party's propositions into national policies through a legal process, as well as better rally the strength of the people to realize the "Chinese dream."
