BEIJING - Three of the four Chinese nationals who went missing Sunday off the Bahamian coast had been rescued, while the last one remained unaccounted for, the Chinese embassy in the Bahamas said Monday.

The rescue was thanks to the efforts of the Bahamian military, the US Coast Guard stationed in the Bahamas and the Chinese company the four men work for, said the embassy in a statement.

Search and rescue efforts were continuing for the 4th one, the statement added.

Earlier reports said the four were fishing off the Bahamas' west coast when the weather turned violent and their boat was overturned by big waves.
