All staff in the 21 hospitals managed by the city's health bureau will start wearing the newly designed clothes in April.
The new uniforms are more fitting and flattering for doctors. Nurses working in different departments will wear different colors: light pink for obstetrics, aqua for emergency and grass green for pediatrics.
Patient clothing is also designed to be more colorful and convenient for treatment. The new clothes will feature overlapping collars such as those in traditional Chinese robes, which will help patients take them off and put them on before or after tests.
Clothes for maternity patients were designed to better facilitate breastfeeding.
The new line also includes new types of sheets featuring patterns of olive branches and sunflowers, which are meant to replace pure white or striped sheets in order to help lighten patients' spirits.
