BEIJING - Seven journalists injured while covering the Lushan earthquake last month have received aid from the All-China Journalists Association, the organization said on Monday.

Association officials have visited and provided economic assistance to the seven journalists from Xinhua News Agency, Economic Daily, China Central Television, China Radio International, and Ya'an TV in Sichuan.

The seven journalists were injured while reporting the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that killed almost 200 people after jolting southwest China's Sichuan Province on April 20.

The seven are the first batch of journalists to receive aid from a non-profitable program launched last month. The program is for helping Chinese journalists who are injured or the families of those killed while doing their job.
