Prospective tenants visit the public rental housing at the Xinyue apartments in Shanghai, on May 15, 2013. The new apartment building is the first edition of public rental apartments in Shanghai and officially opened on Wednesday. The housing structure consists of 4,042 apartments, and the average monthly rental prices were initially listed at about 40 yuan ($6.5) per square meter.
