Vietnamese scholar lauds CPC's mass line campaign
HANOI - The mass line campaign launched by the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by its General Secretary Xi Jinping is of significance in the current situation in China and elsewhere in the world, as it will help establish the policies of democracy and change the work style of officials and party members.
This was the assessment made by Associate Professor Doctor Le Van Toan of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (HCMA) during a recent interview with Xinhua. Toan has spent many years in research on China's history, culture and people.
He said that implementing practical activities on promoting the mass line will also contribute to further handling major problems that have occurred in China and elsewhere in the world.
These undertakings will help raise the capability of officials and party members and enhance public awareness of the mass line in the new situation, he added.
Speaking about the importance of the practical activities to impart the mass line, the scholar said it will benefit the building of democratic principles and the renewal of working lifestyle.
He said, the working style is of symbolic meaning as it relates to the prestige of the officials and party members. The working style is power as it relates to the creation and fighting spirit of the party members as well as their capability of working for the welfare of the people.
Therefore, a long-term nationwide campaign that focuses on the education on culture and humanity is necessary, with all activities based on the spirit: "by the people and for the people," he said.
On the relationship between mass line and Chinese dream, he said that to emphasize the mass line at the present time is to build a foundation for an ideology, spirit and responsibility which are needed to purify the Party and mobilize and bring into full play the power and creation of the entire Chinese people in order to realize the Chinese dream.
The realization of the Chinese dream is a great cause, and a heavy responsibility as well. This cause cannot be undertaken by only one person or one organization, but by the entire Chinese people with all their efforts, talent, proactive and creative spirit, he added.
Reviewing the mass line-related experience in Vietnam, Toan said that there are many Vietnamese scholars who have carried our research on the mass line in the Marxist-Leninist theory and in humanity's heritage, including those of China.
The establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a vivid manifestation of the Party's mass ideology. Moreover, Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) at each of its session has always focused on the mass ideology of Vietnam through many question-and-answer sessions on issues concerning the people.
