8 dead, 10 injured in E China road crash
HANGZHOU - A multiple of vehicles crashed one after another in East China's Zhejiang province Monday morning, killing eight people and injuring 10 others in one of the deadliest road accidents in the province, authorities said.
As of 4 pm on Monday, one injured man was in a critical condition with serious lung injuries and eight others were in non-life-threatening conditions after the crash in Lianmeng Village, Pujiang County in the city of Jinhua, said the county government.
Around 9:30 am, a trailer loaded with paint crashed into a motorcycle, an electric bicycle and a truck along the province's inter-city road near the village.
Five people lost their lives at the scene and another three died in hospital. The driver and co-driver of the trailer were both killed, said the county government.
Of the 10 injured people sent to local hospitals, one slightly injured person has already been discharged.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
