Rape trial involving singer's son concludes
The trial of the teenage son of a well-known military singer concluded late on Thursday. A verdict is expected later.
Li Tianyi, the 17-year-old son of prominent PLA singer Li Shuangjiang, is charged with taking part in the gang rape of a woman, along with four others, on Feb 20.
Li and another suspect denied the charges while the other three accepted them, Fan Jun, who is in charge of juvenile criminal cases in Beijing Haidian District People's Court, said in a news conference after the two-day trial.
Three defendants apologized to the court, he said.
Fan also said the court believed no evidence was unlawfully obtained.
A civil action will be heard separately.
