Chinese VP to attend China-Eurasia Expo opening ceremony
BEIJING - Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao will attend the opening ceremony of the third China-Eurasia Expo in Northwest China, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei announced on Friday.
The expo, scheduled for Sept 2 to 7, will be held in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Hong said.
The expo's organizing committee has invited foreign leaders and former senior officials to attend the event. These include Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev, Tajikistan's first Deputy Prime Minister Matlubkhon Davlatov, Vice-Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia Radnasumberel Gonchigdorj, United Nations Development Programme Administrator Helen Clark and Former Nepalese Constituent Assembly speaker Subash Nemwang.
