China urges Japan to earn international trust
BEIJING - China on Tuesday urged Japan to honor its commitment of reflecting on its history of invasion and take concrete actions to gain the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the comments on Tuesday, the 68th anniversary of the Chinese victory in the war against Japanese aggression and the world's anti-fascist war.
Qin said Chinese people made a great contribution to the victory and China deeply cherished the memory of fellow victims who lost their lives in the war.
"I would like to reiterate that only by facing up to history and taking it as a mirror will Japan be able to face the future," Qin said. Japan should take a correct attitude and respect the feelings of people in victimized countries.
