A vice-ministerial-level official in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was expelled from the Party and dismissed from his post for grave violation of discipline and law, the country's top anti-graft body said on Wednesday.

Former vice-chairman of the region's committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Li Daqiu and his family allegedly accepted a large amount of bribes, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Li has been transferred to judicial authorities for further investigation, according to the commission.
