BALI, Indonesia - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his Mexican counterpart Enrique Pena Nieto witnessed on Sunday the signing of agreements on cooperation in several sectors aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
The signing ceremony was held after bilateral meeting between the two presidents on the sidelines of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Bali.
"Besides trade and investment, we are also looking forward to increasing cooperation in aviation transport, food, energy and tourism. In the field of political, legal and security we suggested improvement in combating trans-national crime, drug trafficking. That's what we had discussed before," Yudhoyono said in a joint press statement.
He added that despite global economic downturn experienced by most economies in the world, two-way trade value between Indonesia and Mexico reached $1.2 billion last year, or 40 percent higher than a year earlier.
