Seven senior officials probed

At least seven ministerial-level officials have been investigated by the top anti-corruption watchdog since last November.

Li Chongxi, chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the province’s top political adviser, was investigated on Dec 29.

Yang Gang, deputy director of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the National Committee of the CPPCC, was probed on Dec 27.

Li Dongsheng, vice-minister of public security, was investigated on Dec 20.

Tong Mingqian, vice-chairman of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, was investigated on Dec 19.

Chen Anzhong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Congress, was under investigation on Dec 6.

Guo Youming, vice-governor of Hubei province, was investigated on Nov 27.

Chen Baihuai, former vice-chairman of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, was probed on Nov 19.
