Chaoyang, Beijing's largest district, will establish a traditional Chinese medicine service trade zone, authorities said.

Chaoyang also plans to set up a related accounting system for the sector, said Chen Kaihong, deputy head of the district health bureau, on Monday.

Chen said that the trade zone will provide TCM health care services, as well as develop TCM training and research and TCM cultural tourism.

So far, the district has more than 10 TCM institutions to provide healthcare services to foreigners in Beijing.

According to the bureau, it encourages those with TCM expertise who have practiced overseas to set up TCM institutions in the district.

The district will provide policy and financial support to help them establish TCM institutions in residential communities.
