Beijing deputy mayor asked the Qingfeng Steamed Stuffed Bun Restaurant to make sure of its food quality after the restaurant has become highly popular since President Xi Jinping visited there in late December.

Cheng Hong, the deputy mayor responsible for business, said on Wednesday that Qingfeng should ensure its steamed buns are of quality and should not raise its prices.

Cheng made the remarks when she met with Zhu Yuling, head of the State-owned Beijing Huatian Catering Group Corp, which owns the Qingfeng chain restaurants.

Qingfeng, a Beijing-based chain known for its steamed buns, has gained huge popularity with diners since Xi’s unexpected visit.

Qingfeng, as a well-known brand with a long history in Beijing, should maintain a stable development pace, Cheng said.
