A lawyer was denounced by the Beijing Lawyers Association for disclosing the trial process of a high-profile gang rape in which a military singer's son was charged and convicted.

Zhou Cuili, of the Beijing Kaitai Law Firm, disclosed details of the case improperly by publicizing evidence that included the victim's gynecological checkup report and a video from a hotel's surveillance camera, the association said in a statement.

Zhou, who put the statement on her micro blog, said on Jan 20 that she was not happy with the punishment and planned to appeal it.

Zhou was the defense lawyer in the case involving 17-year-old Li Tianyi, son of renowned military singer Li Shuangjiang. Li Tianyi was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in September for participating in the gang rape of a woman.
