A doctor whose throat was cut by a dissatisfied patient survived the attack and was said to be out of danger on Wednesday in Yixian county, Hebei province.
Doctor Li Aixin was updating medical records in his office on Tuesday afternoon when the angry patient entered, cut Li's throat with a knife and then fled.
Witnesses at the People’s Hospital of Yixian, where the incident occurred, said the doctor was given emergency treatment and was no longer at risk.
The county police said the suspect has been detained, according to a report on Tuesday in Southern Metropolis Daily.
The suspect was apparently unhappy with the result of a surgical procedure, which may have sparked the attack. But law enforcement authorities said they were continuing to investigate.
