Visitors will be able to board helicopters made in Chongqing to enjoy views of the Three Gorges in the near future, Chongqing Daily reported.
The helicopters used for the rides will be made in Chongqing, in cooperation with Enstrom Helicopter Corporation from the United States.
Chongqing Daily reported on Thursday that a manufacturing factory for Enstrom-Chongqing helicopters in Chongqing will start production in May, and is expected to build three to five helicopters in 2014.
The global output of Enstrom-Chongqing helicopters in 2014 will be about 40, including those made in the US and in Chongqing.
The helicopter company is working with a cruise company, aiming to provide helicopter rides from the ship on the Three Gorges cruise.
Chongqing-made helicopters have attracted attention since the project started. However, the parts are still made in the US. The first helicopter will be assembled in Chongqing in May.
