An attack helicopter crashed on farmland in Weinan of Shaanxi province on Tuesday afternoon, the local fire department confirmed.
The helicopter, which was identified as a WZ-10 attack helicopter by aviation fans who saw pictures online, crashed on farmland in Xinyi township at around 2:40 pm, said firefighters.
Residents pulled two pilots out of the cockpit and rushed them to a hospital. No residents were injured.
Whether the aircraft belonged to the People's Liberation Army or the helicopter's manufacturer, Aviation Industry Corp of China, was not immediately known.
The WZ-10, which is the Chinese military's first specialized attack helicopter, made its public debut in 2012.
An investigation of the crash was under way.
