TAIPEI - A coach-truck collision in Taiwan killed one local driver and injured 13 tourists from the Chinese mainland on Saturday, travel authorities said.
The accident happened in Taitung county at around 4 pm when a truck crashed head-on into a bus carrying a tour group from North China's Tianjin municipality, according to the Taipei Office of the Association for Tourism Exchanges Across the Taiwan Straits.
The Taiwanese truck driver was found dead at the site. The head of the tour group was hospitalized, while other passengers, suffering mostly scratches and bruises, have been discharged, the office said.
