Woman wins house, thinks notification is fake

A woman in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, who won a house with sea views by playing an online game initially thought she was the victim of a phone scam, Xi'an Evening News reported on Tuesday.

Tang Ting, who played the game on her mobile phone on March 8, received a phone call a few days later telling her she had won a house near the sea. However, she thought the call was fake so turned off her cellphone.

The game organizer tried many ways to contact Ting and eventually persuaded her she had won a house, valued at more than 1 million yuan ($161,705). Tang is now registering the property.
