A baby who was born during a motorcycle crash that killed both its parents in Xiamen, Fujian province, has survived, Southwest Express reported on Wednesday.
The baby's mother and father were on their way to a local hospital when their motorcycle collided with a vehicle transporting dirt and killed them both.
The collision took place at about 8:30 am on Tuesday. A witness saw the baby lying at least 3 meters away from his mother soon after the accident.
About one hour later, the baby weighing 4.2 kg was sent to a local hospital. He suffered many bruises on the face and limbs, but no major injuries were found.
The husband's brother told medics that the wife had a stomachache, and the husband was taking her to the hospital when the collision took place.
