Editing, broadcasting or keeping audios or videos that incite violence and terrorism will be punished legally, according to an announcement published by the Supreme People's Court of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the region's People's Procuratorate and Public Security departments on Monday.

On the forbidden list are audio and video products that popularize violence and terrorism, religious extremism and separatism, especially those that instigate holy war or teach how to make and use explosives and guns.

The announcement lists the illegal transmission means of these products as websites, micro-blog accounts, voice-chatrooms, QQ and mobile social media apps such as WeChat. The transportation or mailing of such materials is also forbidden.

The departments gave one month's amnesty for those who possess such illegal audio or video products to delete or turn in the files. Legal action will be taken against those who refuse, according to the Criminal Law.
