More than 1,500 students of a kindergarten and a primary school in Haining, Zhejiang province, have been moved out of their damaged school buildings after a residential building collapsed in the neighboring city of Fenghua, causing one death and injuring six people, Qianjiang Evening reported.

Large cracks can be seen on the walls in two buildings of the Haining Experimental Primary School and one building of the Haining Meiyuan Kindergarten. The primary school’s two buildings, which are 5.5 centimeters apart at their bases, have tilted to almost touch higher up.

Students of the two schools, whose classes are now suspended, will be transferred to safe buildings on campus or in other schools.

The buildings at the school and kindergarten have been in use for less than 20 years.
