Outer suburbs benefit from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration

According to Ma Jihua, a senior analyst at Daojing, a management consulting company, the outer suburbs in Beijing's districts and counties benefit the most from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration, rather than Hebei or Tianjin.

Geographically, the outer suburbs in Beijing are closer to Hebei instead of downtown Beijing. In that case, the gap will only be increased between those outer suburbs and downtown Beijing when the city center is expected to motivate the competitiveness of the neighboring region.

Thus, Ma believes, Beijing's outer suburbs will progress only if neighboring counties and districts have developed. Once the outer suburbs have developed, it will be more successful than the districts and counties in Hebei in view of the geopolitics.

Ma says the key issue of the idea of integration is the elimination of administration in these three regions.

In Ma's view, the logistics industry, which is oriented by the market, has already realized the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration while many industries such as telecommunication are still functioning separately due to administrative reasons.

Therefore, market-orientation and the dismissal of administrative limitations are both crucial rules to the integration.
