Shanghai Railway is to launch the New Oriental Express, a train journey to six European and Asian countries, starting from July, according to jhnews.com.cn.

The journey to Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Austria is scheduled to take 11 days with four nights on the train.

The New Oriental Express can carry up to 97 passengers and 3 guides, according to Shanghai Railway. It resembles China's luxury soft sleeper, furnished with a mini-bar and air conditioning in each compartment, and a shower room in each carriage.

It's the first transnational cooperation between Shanghai Railway and the Turkish State Railway.

A director at Shanghai Railway said a pilot run will be introduced on July 8. Tourists will fly to Istanbul from Shanghai, enjoy their 11-day trip, and fly back to Shanghai from Vienna, the director added.

The trip is quoted at 32,000 yuan ($5,000) per person, covering visa fees, flight tickets, train tickets, tourism attractions tickets, and accommodation, according to Xinhuanet.
