A security guard of a residential community in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, was fired after writing a love letter to a woman living in the community, Qianjiang Evening News reported.

The guard, surnamed Ruan, 46, kept the letter for nine days before putting it into the single woman's mailbox. The woman called Ruan's boss and complained she was being harassed.

After being told he was fired, Ruan insisted he has the right to pursue love and complained to the local labor supervision department. The local labor supervision department intervened, asking for compensation from Ruan's employer.
