State Council appoints new officials

BEIJING - The State Council, China's Cabinet, on Wednesday announced the appointment of several officials.

Chen Fei, former president of the state-owned China Three Gorges Corporation, was appointed vice director of the Executive Office of the Three Gorges Project Construction Committee of the State Council.

Chen replaced Lu Chun, who assumed the post of board chairman of the same corporation last month, according to the company's website.

Lin Nianxiu was appointed vice head of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Kuresh Mahsut vice head of the Ministry of Land and Resources and director of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation (NASMG), while Sun Baohou became deputy auditor general of the National Audit Office.

Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaoqiang and Du Ying were dismissed from the posts of vice heads of the NDRC, and Xu Deming was removed from the posts of vice minister of land and resources and director of the NASMG.

Jiang Zengwei was also removed from the position of vice minister of commerce, among a number of other appointment and dismissal announcements.
