Zhao Zuohai, 61, who was thrust into the media spotlight in 2010 having wrongly served 10 years in prison, has finally landed a job in Shangqiu city, central China's Henan Province.

In the three years since Zhao's acquittal his life has reportedly been difficult.

He received 650,000 yuan ($102,960) in compensation, but said the money only made him feel isolated. Worse, he did not have the skills to reintegrate into society.

Shangqiu authorities decided to help him find a job. "We hope Zhao gets a steady job that can help him enjoy a full life," the Legal Evening News cited a local government officer as saying.

Zhao now works as a cleaner in Shangqiu, earning 1,000 yuan per month.
