NANNING -- A rainstorm which last since Saturday has triggered floods and landslides, killing three people and leaving over 77,000 others with damaged homes and flooded farmland, in Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The regional civil affairs bureau estimated the heavy rain has caused economic losses of over 4.8 million yuan ($767,000).
The regional flood control headquarters said on Sunday that sudden downpours, thunderstorms and hailstorms hit 21 counties since Saturday.
The local weather department forecast the rain would move eastwards and last till Monday in the eastern part of Guangxi.
