Swiss photographer Hannes Schmid's first exhibition in Beijing, Momentous, explores the themes of speed and time, and reshapes people's perception of Formula I racers.

But it not only presents high-tech cars and heroic race drivers, such as Jenson Button, Jacques Villeneuve and Takuma Sato. He also invites visitors to engage in the exhibition as an avant-garde experiment.

Visitors can uploads their own pictures via an app specially designed for the exhibition. Their photos will then be projected onto five sculptures in the center of the exhibition hall.

Born in Zurich, the 68-year-old photographer has traveled around the world, documenting more than 250 rock bands from 1977 to 1984. He also re-created the "Malboro Man" cowboy image when doing a commercial ad for the tobacco company.

The exhibition will open on June 22 at the Today Art Museum.
