Fatal road rage triggered by marital dispute

Police have confirmed that a car rage incident that took place on April 28 in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province, in which seven people were killed and 12 injured, was triggered by a marital dispute, Southeast Express reported on Tuesday.

An investigation found that Lin Jianxin, 37, drove a rental car and followed his wife after they attended a divorce hearing in the morning. Lin rammed the car he was driving into his wife's vehicle many times.

Lin then drove to his wife's home village in Minhou county with the intent of harming his parents-in-law, whom he believed responsible for the divorce, the report stated.

In his anger, Lin intentionally drove into pedestrians and vehicles along the way and stopped only when the car he was driving became severely damaged.
