BEIJING - China's Ministry of Justice has asked lawyers to promote professional ethics, adhere to the constitution and laws, and embrace the virtues of honesty and righteousness.
In a Wednesday statement, the ministry urged local branches to promote moral integrity among lawyers, enforce discipline and address prominent issues in the profession to create a peaceful China ruled by law.
The ministry also asked lawyers to work for the people and dedicate themselves to their work.
Lawyers are required to safeguard social peace and justice, observe honesty and credibility.
