Zhejiang province will have a large-scale job fair in Shanghai this week in the hope of finding talented professionals to meet its future development needs.

The job fair will be at Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel on June 6. More than 230 companies and units in the province will participate in the event, offering more than 4,500 jobs, according to the province's human resources and social security authorities.

Bonuses and benefit packages — including children's study costs, housing allowances and assistance with other family-related issues — will be provided as well as competitive salaries, the authorities said.

In recent years, the province has been actively working on the establishment and development of a marine economic demonstration zone, the Wenzhou financial reform experimental zone and the Yiwu international trade reform trial project. It is estimated that by 2015, the province will need more than 1 million skilled professionals.

According to the Ministry of Education, the number of university graduates hit a record high of 7.27 million this year, which will make the competition for job opportunities fiercer. In Shanghai, about 178,000 university students are expected to graduate this year.

Earlier, a website that integrated recruitment information, business startup guidance, social networking and study management was launched in Shanghai. It will work with local universities to provide the latest job information and assist with employment. The website youdu.com will organize an entrepreneurship competition this month that encourages university graduates to start their own businesses after they graduate.
