Premier Li Keqiang was presented with a short animated film about himself during a visit to an animation production company in Changsha, Hunan province.
Animation developers at Talkweb Information System Co Ltd, a listed mobile games and animation company based in Changsha, produced a short film of about one-and-half-minute length, after learning the premier visited their city the previous day.
They presented the piece to the premier on Friday morning, when Li visited their company.
The production depicts Li's younger years at Peking University, his tours as Chinese premier and the places he has visited on his current trip to Changsha.
Li encouraged the animation and mobile games developers to produce more globally competitive works, emphasizing that the growth of the Chinese economy should be driven by innovation rather than pure labor.
Talkweb started by cooperating with international mobile game companies to produce Chinese versions of famous games, such as Plants vs Zombies.
It developed its own "Papa Sanguo" game last year, featuring the historical Three Kingdoms period.
The game is available on the Chinese mainland, in Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea.
"Two-thirds of the income of this game comes from players outside the mainland," said Xiao Qianhui, an employee of the company.
