Ouyang Zhiwei, a female financial news anchor for China Central Television (CCTV), has reportedly not appeared at work for more than a month, The Beijing News reported on Wednesday.

The 'disappearance' of the anchor coincides with a recent investigation launched into CCTV's financial news service.

CCTV's finance channel director Guo Zhenxi and senior producer Tian Liwu were detained for suspicion of bribery in June.

Speculation has circulated around other CCTV financial news staff not showing up to work. Renowned business anchor Rui Chengang has not appeared on air since July 11.

Graduating from the Communication University of China in 2009, Ouyang Zhiwei became a news anchor for CCTV's finance and economic channel after interning at the news station for just four months.

Currently, 27-year-old Ouyang is the youngest host of the news broadcaster's financial service.
