Publishing houses and companies involved in the book trade are confident that the national book fair in Guizhou province will be a story with a happy ending.
The 24th Chinese National Book Trade Fair, first held in 1980, opened on Aug 1 in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province.
More than 800 publishing houses and companies from all over the country have set up 2,400 booths, 10 percent more than in 2013, according to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, which organized the event with the government of Guizhou province.
The fair will last until Aug 4 and its main venue is the Guiyang Internatinal Conference and Exhibition Center.
An auxiliary venue is located in the Confucius Academy, and another two are based in Zunyi and Anshun, cities Guiyang.
Famous writers and other cultural celebrities, including famous children's book writer Cao Wenxuan, and economist Wu Jinglian, will speak at the fair.
