Huangzhou man sentenced for supplying illegal drugs

A father served drugs to his friends at a party to celebrate his son graduating from senior high school in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and the supplier was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for a year and a half, on Monday.

The father, surnamed Zhang, treated his friends and a teacher who helped him select appropriate universities for his son in August 2012. After the dinner, the group of 19 people went to a karaoke bar to continue the celebration, according to a report on Tuesday on Zhejiang Online, a news website based in Hangzhou.

The father ordered in ketamine and a drink containing methamphetamine to serve to his guests. During a raid by police, eight were found to have taken drugs.

The man who sold the drugs was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended, and fined 2,000 yuan ($325) for illegal possession of drugs. The father was given administrative punishment.
