Beijing tops consumers' index for dining

The convenience of living in Beijing was listed third on a recent survey with its dining coming in first, Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday.

According to a report issued by dianping.com, a website for an urban consumers' guide, on Sunday, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing were listed as the top three for living convenience in 2014, while Beijing has the most restaurants among the 31 provincial capitals and municipalities in China.

The report also said consumers in Beijing were smart and rational in their buying as they saved 2 billion yuan ($325.7 million) through group purchases from June 2013 to May 2014, coming second to Shanghai's consumers who saved 5.3 billion yuan during the same period.
