Five dead, one injured in SW China blast

GUIYANG - Five people were killed and another injured after a blast at an illegal fireworks plant in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Monday, confirmed local sources.

The explosion was heard at about 7:40 am in the Lanjiang village of Meitan county, where people were believed to be making fireworks illegally.

Four were killed on the spot while two others were sent to hospital. One of the wounded later died. The other is in stable condition.

More details on the cause of the accident are being investigated.
