Is it possible to live an off-line life in a connected world? With a mobile phone in hand, we are besieged with calls, messages and social network "shares" or "likes". With the number of mobile Internet users surging in China, there are an increasing number of calls for mobile phone users to remain off-line when driving, walking on the street and attending a class or meeting. Figures show China's netizen population reached 632 million by the end of June and mobile Internet users totaled 527 million. It is the first time Chinese netizens have been recorded using mobile phones (83.4 percent) more often than traditional PCs (80.9 percent). |
