Chinese defense minister meets chief of staff of Portuguese air force

BEIJING - Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met with Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Air Force Jose Pinheiro on Monday.

Chang commented on the development of exchanges and cooperation between the two armed forces in recent years, saying that China is ready to work with Portugal to strengthen strategic mutual trust, and promote bilateral military cooperation in such areas as training, military science and aeromedicine.

Pinheiro, for his part, said Portugal is willing to promote the friendly ties between the two militaries, especially the two air forces.
