BEIJING - The Third Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, will convene in Beijing on March 5 next year.
The decision was adopted at a week-long bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee, which concluded in Beijing on Sunday.
The suggested agenda for the annual session includes:
-- deliberating the government work report;
-- examining the report on the implementation of the 2014 plan on economic and social development and the report on the draft 2015 plan for national economic and social development; and voting on the plan of national economic and social development for 2015;
-- examining the report on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2014 and on the draft central and local budgets for 2015, and voting on the 2015 central budget;
-- deliberating draft amendment to legislation law;
-- deliberating a work report of the NPC Standing Committee;
-- deliberating a work report of the Supreme People's Court;
-- deliberating a work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
According to the NPC's rule of procedure, NPC Standing Committee should suggest a draft agenda for the upcoming NPC full session before the annual session convenes.
The NPC is the highest institution through which the Chinese people exercise their state power. All administrative, judicial, procuratorial and military organs and other state-level institutions are accountable to the NPC and supervised by it.
