GUANGZHOU - Three officials from South China's Guangdong province have been stripped of their Communist Party of China (CPC) membership and official posts for "serious violation of discipline and law," said the provincial discipline watchdog on Friday.

They are Cao Jianliao, former deputy mayor of the provincial capital Guangzhou, Tu Yaosheng, former head of the Guangdong Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Li Heping, deputy general manager of Guangdong Guangye Assets Management Co Ltd.

Cao was found to have taken advantage of his position to seek interests for others, taken huge bribes and committed adultery with multiple women, according to the CPC Guangdong provincial commission for discipline inspection.

Tu and Li were also found to have taken huge bribes.

Their cases have been transferred to judicial authorities.
