Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and one of the executive chairpersons of the presidium, presided over the meeting.
The presidium voted to put the following documents for discussion by NPC deputies.
-- draft resolution on the work report of the NPC Standing Committee;
-- draft resolution on the work report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC);
-- draft resolution on the work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP);
-- draft resolutions on the resignation of two NPC Standing Committee members.
According to the NPC rules, the resignation of members of the NPC Standing Committee will need a final confirmation from the NPC full session.
The NPC Standing Committee accepted the resignation of Wang Xiao and Chen Sixi last June and submitted their resignation reports to this session, the statement explained.
The Presidium also approved a report on motions raised by NPC deputies at this session.
A total of 468 motions have been raised by nearly 3,000 deputies at this session by March 9, 98.5 percent of which were about legislation, said Wang Wanbin, deputy secretary-general of the session.
Most of the motions are related to reform and governance, he said.
