TOKYO - Joint effort, cooperation and exchange will play key roles in developing China-Japan relations, said Wang Chen, minister of the State Council Information Office of China, during the opening ceremony of the eighth Beijing-Tokyo Forum on Monday.
Wang delivered a keynote speech during the ceremony, giving five key pieces of advice on the development of China-Japan relations.

- The two countries should further boost high-level exchanges, strengthen the negotiation, communication and collaboration in the political field and unremittingly deepen the mutual understanding and trust, providing powerful and continuous political support to the bilateral relations.
- China and Japan, as the two key economies of the world, should work together to address the crisis and strengthen mutual-benefit cooperation, adding new momentum to Asian and global economic growth. The two countries should further push forward their close economic and trade ties, deepen interest integration, and boost the recovery of the Asian and global economy.
- China and Japan have big cooperating potential in the adjustment of the economic structure, industrial structure transition and sustainable development. Both sides should hold a win-win belief, to fully take advantage of the complementariness of their economies, aiming to make new contributions to deepening the strategic relationship of mutual beneficial and sustainable development.
- China and Japan should inherit and promote the common values of Asia's culture. The two countries should help their people to express their common feelings through developing the creative industry and promoting cultural exchange. That will eventually lead to emotional and soul chords between the people of both countries.
- The two nations should work hard with other Asian countries to push forward the regional and sub-regional cooperations, strengthen the common security, maintain the stability and peace of the northeastern Asia, promote the cooperation in East Asia and the construction of East Asian Community and fulfill the mutual-development along with the Asia's revitalization.
