Parking shed fire kills eight in east China

HANGZHOU - Eight people died after an electric bike caught fire at a parking shed on early Wednesday morning in east China's Zhejiang province, said local fire authorities.

The fire broke out at around 4:30 am at the outdoor shed in Jiefangtang Community in Yuhuan County, Taizhou City, according to the city's fire department.

The victims escaped to the corridor of a building while the choking smoke spread there, according to the department.

The blaze has been put out.
